Host chapter

Legal issues were emailed. Hiring people outside EU is problematic if we want that at all, and microgrants is impossible through WMIT. We should contact WMF about possible solutions. (AP) Lodewijk check with Asaf about possible solutions. Formal decision of WMIT board is pending final lawyer decision.

Contacting countries

In January we contacted a whole bunch of countries, now we should move ahead and contact them again, motivate them as this is an important month! AP all: contact your mentor countries, figure out their status on lists, volunteers and prizes/jury. Lets do that the next 2 weeks.

Open Emails

• Conference in Croatia
  • Not going there, will send leaflets and other stuff? AP Lodewijk: respond with this, bring in touch with Tomasz. AP Tomasz: ask questions.
• Conference in Athens
  • AP Lodewijk: poke Asaf about the Greek team (or someone from WMF). We will not go as an international team unless someone stays in neighbourhood

  • WLM will be one of the core issues discussed during this meeting, would be nice to have somebody there

Prizes

• 2012 -> we try to get our answers before next meeting.
• 2013 -> we should definitely figure out prizes which are not cash! Vouchers are still having a good edge, because they are easy to transfer and flexible. Physical objects are nicer but hard to transport.

Minutes - what to do with them

• Tomasz said that Mono from the US was/maybe interested to edit blog template.
• Monica, Cristian and Tomasz had an IRC meeting regarding the timeline. They decided not to change any dates, but they decided to explain things better.
• Discussion on whether to be conservative or to be optimistic on the measure of success. Lodewijk, Karthik said that it should be conservative while Tomasz and Monica said that we should expect big this year again. Cristian also felt that we should be conservative.
• Tomasz said that there will be no WLM app this year. Probably because that our data base is not structured properly.
• To expect this year: 385,000 images, 15,000 participants, 35 countries.
• Make sure that the interested countries have prepared or have at-least started preparing lists, have determined prizes, sponsors and juries.
