You have pictures of monuments stalled in your computer or in your camera since your last trip? This is a great opportunity to give them a second life in this Wiki Loves Earth contest. In addition to being seen by everyone, your pictures could be included in Wikipedia and contribute to the preservation of Nature of Cameroon. Freely licensed photos collected through Wiki Loves Earth may also be reused elsewhere than in Wikipedia.
Photos may have been taken at any time. The key criteria to be eligible for the contest are that they are to be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons from June to mid July and that they have been taken by you, of course!
Wiki Loves Earth is an annual international photographic competition held during the months of May or June, organised worldwide by the Wikipedia community members with the help of local Wikimedia affiliates across the globe. Participants take pictures of local natural heritage sites in their region and upload them to Wikimedia Commons. The aim of event is to highlight the natural heritage sites of the participating countries with the goal to encourage people to capture pictures of these sites and to put them under a free licence which can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone.
This year, by organisation of Wikimedians of Cameroon User Group members, Cameroon is participating in the competition for the thirty time.
