Commons:Wiki Loves Earth 2019 in Nigeria/Outreach Events
Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation in partnership with Tour Nigeria launched the contest at Freedom Park, Lagos State on Friday, 7th June 2019. Participants were professional photographers, government agency and media personalities. The special guest of honor was the Director General of Nigerian Tourism Development Commission, Mr. Folarin Coker. The event was extensively covered by the media including multiple televisions and radio stations.
The welcoming address was delivered by Mr. Olaniyan Olushola, the president of Wikimedia Nigeria and opening remark was delivered by the Director General, Nigerian Tourism Development Commission, Mr. Folarin Coker.
Other dignitaries present includes, Mr. Kayode Akintemi, the CEO of Plus TV Africa and former manager of operations, Channel's TV, Ms. Nta Ekpiken, Copyright and Intellectual Property Lawyer.
The event was attended by over 40 participants.
Professional photographers were trained on how to participates in the contest.
