Commons:Wiki Loves Africa 2024 by Fulfulde Wikimedians Community
Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest where anyone across Africa can contribute media that relates to that year's theme to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the Wikimedia Foundation. Wiki Loves Africa encourages participants to contribute media (photographs, video and audio) that illustrate the specific theme for that year. Each year the theme changes. Each year's theme is chosen by the community to be a universal, visually-rich and culturally-specific topics (for example, markets, rites of passage, festivals, public art, cuisine, natural history, urbanity, daily life, notable persons, etc).
The current edition of the contest focuses on "Africa Create," marking the second installment of the competition in North East region of Nigeria. The theme, "Africa Create," encourages submissions of media that capture the processes of creating, inventing, and manufacturing culturally significant items. This can encompass a wide range of subjects, including makeup, art, hairstyles, music, dance, clothing, woven materials, and more. Essentially, it seeks to showcase elements that promote Africa's rich heritage and culture, as expressed through various artistic forms such as music, song, dance, and movement.
How to Participate
Are you are in Adamawa State, Borno, Bauchi, Taraba, Yobe, Gombe or anywhere else in Northern Nigeria? find climate and weather features, take a photo, Video (time lapses etc), Audio (sound of the wind, thunderstorm, river etc in an artistic way and upload it to Wikimedia Commons.
Competition rules
Every Entry/Upload should abide by the following rules:
- The participant must have a Wikimedia commons Username. If you do not have one, you can kindly Create an account here.
- The entry must be self taken and self uploaded although it must not be an image taken during the contest period;
- Uploaded during March and April 2024;
- Uploaded process with give permission with a CC BY-SA licenseto re-use the image;
- Use the proper category: Images from Wiki Loves Africa 2024 by Fulfulde Wikimedians Community

- March 1st, 2024: launch of international contest
- March 3rd, 2024: launch of the local contest
