WikiProject Tokikom
A project to bring Basque local media image archives to the Commons

Tokikom (Q16518982) is a network of 66 local media in Basque language. Most of them emerged at the end of the 1980s, in the context of the flourishing of local Basque associations, as an instrument for the dissemination and standardisation of Basque.

The Basque Wikimedians User Group has been working with them to bring part of their archives to Wikimedia, importing images to the Commons and using them on Wikipedia and Wikisource.

2019: test project with Aiurri

[edit]

During this one-month test project we will try to measure how long it takes to do three different tasks:

  • Scanning full magazine pages and uploading it to Wikisource.
  • Uploading directly PDF files from more recent magazines.
  • All images will be uploaded to the, at least, the category Category:Images from Aiurri
