same error in every time

When I upload plenty of pictures, I got every tome next error in some picture, and when I add to name of picture one number or character, then I can continue.

This title has been specified for more than one file you're going to upload. Underscores are treated as spaces, a file extension is added automatically.

German issue

Hallo Zusammen,

ich hatte 6 Dateien mit allen Angaben zu den Quellen, Lizenzen usw. hochgeladen und nun wurden sie ohne eine Notiz an mich einfach gelöscht. Ich bin etwas verwirrt. Am Anfang hatte ich jede Menge Mails von Ihnen bekommen, wenn etwas nicht stimmte. Ich lud die Dateien erst am letzten Freitag hoch und jetzt sind sie ohne Kommentar gelöscht. Wäre sehr nett wenn Sie mir mitteilen wo der Fehler lag - ich kann die Dateien auch nicht wieder hochladen....

Moin, mangels Über- und "Unterschrift" (das mit den vier ~~~~) habe ich hier ein {{unsigned|NeoAqua}} angepappt. Bei Klick auf "Talk" wird die lokale NeoAqua Diskussionsseite angezeigt, da gab es allerlei Urheberrechtswarnungen am 28.11. Nach gut einer Woche ohne Verbesserung endet das dann mit den auf Special:Log/NeoAqua als rote Links sichtbaren Löschungen. Sieht für mich normal aus, Hochladen erfordert Lizenz, je nach Methode kann das dauern, aber so lange trotz Warnung geht nicht. –Be..anyone (talk) 03:28, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Trouble Uploading an Image

I am trying to upload an image to a wikipedia article I have created for a class. To find the image I just searched on Google and found the image I wanted to use. It was recently published on someones blog spot but I know that the original photograph was taken before 1923 as it is a picture of Alice Guy- Blaché directing a film using the chronophone which she did from 1902 to 1906. I am having trouble because I don't know the name of the original person or took the photograph and I am a little confused about what to enter in the "source" section. Do I just cite the URL I found the image attached to? --Kate5405 (talk) 12:16, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

The fact that the photo was created before 1923 does not necessarily mean that it is in the public domain. The year 1923 is only relevant for the copyright status in the United States, and that's in relation to when the photograph was first published, rather than when it was created. Furthermore, for Commons to host the photo, it would have to be in the public domain both in the source country and in the United States. Given that the subject is French, it seems likely that the source country is France. In France, the main concern is whether the author has been dead for more than 70 years. Based on Google's cached copy of File:Alice Guy-Blaché directing a Chronophone Film.jpg, it looks like the photo you're talking about is the top center one from http://whitney.org/Exhibitions/AliceGuyBlache/Images. According to that site, it was taken by Léon Gaumont, who died in 1946, which is less than 70 years ago.
As for providing authorship information: you should always provide the name of the author, unless the work is truly anonymous (in which case you can use {{unknown|author}}). You must make a reasonable effort (both online and offline if necessary) to identify the author. Finding an instance of the photo without attribution online does not mean that the author is unknown. Generally, a work should only be considered anonymous if several independent and reliable sources explicitly identify it as such. In this case, it was quite easy to find a name.
As for providing source information: you should provide a link to the page on which the image appears (not just a deep link to the image itself). The source should contain enough information to help verify that the photo is in the public domain. In this case, finding such a link will most likely not be possible, since the photo does not appear to be in the public domain. —LX (talk, contribs) 19:28, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Some weeks ago I uploaded file "Шурик1.jpg" for my article on Russian language. Yesterday I recognized my file was deleted. I send e-mail with permeation to put photo into Wikipedia Commons and asked to restore my file . E-mail text based on your template. I checked Commons today and the file not found, but when I try to upload the same photo using different file name I got message: file with similar contents is in the Common. What should I do now? All you need to do is to wait for the e-mail to be processed (and possibly respond to any follow-up e-mails from the volunteers processing the permission). This (along with the current backlog) is explained at Commons:OTRS. You should not try to recreate previously deleted content yourself. Reuploading a photo that was delated

Hello,

in 2011 I have tried to upload a photo of my father on polish Wikipedia, however it was delated. Right now, I am trying to upload tthe same photo again, however it is not possible for some reason. Внизу страницы загрузки мне выдаёт: "Вы должны указать оригинальный источник файла, автора работы и лицензию." Я указал автора, указал книгу, на которой находится изображение. Check out Commons:File types (COM:FT), it has a link to a Commons:Project scope/Allowable file types summary. In theory PDF is allowed, if it's really in scope for Commons, but actually Commons is a repository of (in scope) media files, audio, video, image. In free formats, the ISO 19500 standard for Microsoft's Office document types doesn't really count as "free" (and it's only "open" for folks willing to read, understand, and implement several thousands of pages in the ooXML standard. ;) –Be..anyone (talk) 12:49, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Archivo eliminado

Estimados,

el 11-11-2014 subí el archivo UBA_sxx.jpg con la categoria: "Categoría:Wikifuture UBA" de entera mi autoría y fue eliminado. Entiendo que sucedió por haber publicado un link al archivo original de base. Ahora, intento resubirlo para eliminar ese link externo y no me lo permite, me hace una referencia a un archivo duplicado eliminado. Le cambié el nombre al archivo a: "FFyL_SXX.jpg" y tampoco logro poder aplicar el upload.

La intención de publicar la fuente con link externo, fue un exceso de compromiso por el derecho publico de wikimedia commons, ese link lleva a la reconstrucción 3D original del establecimiento de la FFyL de la UBA que yo mismo he realizado con herramientas informáticas libres en su totalidad.

No veo otra razón por la que se baje el archivo a no ser por la referencia al link externo. Pues, si ese no fuese el motivo, también el resto de las fotos subidas deberían bajarse por no contar con el permiso del arquitecto del edificio de cada facultad, ni de los ingenieros y obreros que colocaron ladrillo a ladrillo el emplazamiento, ni de los estudiantes transeúntes que salen en las mismas fotos, ni de las municipalidad competentes.

Hi! I'm sorry for responding in English, but unfortunately, it doesn't look like anyone who speaks Spanish is going to answer. You might have more luck at Commons:Café. It sounds like you are trying to recreate a file that has previously been deleted. You should not try to do that. Re-Uploading of deleted file

Error when using the Upload Wizard

I'm trying to upload a JPG image using the wizrad, however the upload form never displays in the browser. Instead the message "Done, but with errors in page" is displayed at the bottom of the window, and a blank screen where the form should be. Why is this happening? How can I fix this, and upload? The browser is Internet Explorer 8.0 64bit running on Win.7 O/S. Thanks! DPdH (talk) 09:09, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

A personal recommendation: Either use Internet Explorer 10 or any other browser, e.g. the latest Opera. The likehood that JavaScript is broken on IE <10 is quite high. Currently I have neither time to report this issue to Phabricator nor to track it down. Or simply use something not wizardy-like from COM:Upload. -- Rillke(q?) 17:38, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

upload image mislukt omdat een voorgaande versie inmiddels is deleted. ORTS toestemming ontvangen onder Ticket#2014120910008089

Goedemiddag, Ik tracht de upload van 'Portret van Jenny Amelia Mulder getekend door Isa van der Zee op wiki commons te realiseren. Ik heb aan ORTS de toestemming van de maakster gemeld en hierop de volgende acceptatie ontvangen: Ticket#2014120910008089 onder standaard licentie CC-BY-SA. De upload mislukt omdat het portret inmiddels is verwijderd. Ik voldoe denk aan de licentie voorwaarden, de vraag is echter hoe krijg ik de upload voor elkaar en geïmplementeerd in de Biografie van Jenny Amelia Mulder?

Select multiple pictures to upload

When I select plenty of pictures in same select to upload, only 2 pictures will upload. I must manually select more pictures. Some month ago this works fine but not now.--Motopark (talk) 10:38, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

Certainly not intentionally. I am also quite sure I could track it down if I would have time and write a patch but I don't have. Only found phab:T41902 on a quick search but I am sure Fabrice Florin is aware of other issue reports regarding that. -- Rillke(q?) 22:38, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

It happens with Explorer, Chrome amd Firefox. But yesterday I've tried on a Mac (I have a PC) and it worked. So I'm not sure it's a browser problem. --Pedro Felipe (talk) 18:18, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Upload new images to the same location as existing ones

Adding categories before uploading in UploadWizard

Looking at my existing images on Wikimedia I am told they are in Janice Lourie. I would like to upload some new ones into the same category. How do I do that please. @Janvermont: First, if you are not Janice Lourie, please gather written permission and follow the instructions on how to send permission to our support team. If you are Janice Lourie, I encourage you to do the same, as the user name Janvermont doesn't indicate that and even if it would; anyone is free to with the choice of a user name without any verification. When you send e-Mail to our support team, please use a credible e-Mail address (preferably one that is listed on an official contact page or that belongs to an official domain Janice is the owner of). There is also an e-Mail address for photo submissions but I do not recommend that because its queue is often times full and it takes ages to be processed by a volunteer.
So to upload into category Janice Lourie, you add Janice Lourie to the file description page. This can be done during upload, or after clicking the edit tab and adding [[Category:Janice Lourie|Janice Lourie]] at the end of the content of the edit/input text area and pressing save.
To add a category while uploading, there are different ways depending on the upload method used. If you are using UploadWizard, you can enter them in the last step, just before publishing. On Special:Upload, dependent on the layout displayed, there is either a categories section with a (+) which is much as the same as adding categories like in UploadWizard, or there is a big input text area for the file description, where one can append categories in wiki-markup (e.g. adding the text [[Category:Janice Lourie|Janice Lourie]] in a new line). -- Rillke(q?) 15:12, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

in multiple picture upload, last picture must renamed before can upload

When I try upload multiple pictures, I got an error message in last picture This title has been specified for more than one file you're going upload.
