Consensual review

[edit]

File:Berlin_East_Side_Oberbaumbrücke_(bw01).jpg

[edit]

  • Nomination English: Oberbaumbrücke over the Spree river, connection between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg neighborhoods. Berlin, Germany --Hans-Jürgen Neubert 01:17, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Support Good quality. -- Johann Jaritz 07:23, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Poor detail: the clouds are pixelated. Mind COM:OVERCAT too (here we go again). --A.Savin 20:16, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose - I agree on the pixellation and the overcategorization. If you use Category:East side of Oberbaumbrücke (Berlin), you obviously should omit the general category for the bridge. -- Ikan Kekek 10:53, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Also weird halos all around the towers.--Peulle 10:50, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
Total: 1 support (excluding the nominator), 3 oppose → Declined   --PumpkinSky 17:56, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

File:Oxford_Building_Sunset.jpg

[edit]

  • Nomination High dynamic range image of the Sheldonian Theatre building in Oxford, photographed just before sunset. --Prosthetic Head 13:39, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
  • Decline
  •  Oppose It's deformed, the bottom part is longer than the top --Michielverbeek 22:45, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  CommentI'm not sure what you mean by 'deformed'? The aspect ratio / perspective hasn't been changed from the real scene. The bottom part is longer than the top, since the camera was necessarily pointing up at the building. I don't mind if it's not a QI, just trying to understand how to improve next time.--(unsigned)
  • ✓ DoneThanks for the tip, I've given it a go and uploaded new version. Not worried about QI or not, just trying to improve. Prosthetic Head 10:51, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Comment It's a lot better but leaning a bit still (especially visible on the top part) and there's a white line on the top. With gimp's perspective tool, you can select "Clipping > crop to result" to automatically remove unneeded bits, and "Direction > Corrective (backward)" allows you to just match the lines you want horizontal or vertical, then in Guides you can change the number of lines to have them match your image (see File:Screenshot editing Oxford Building Sunset.jpg in gimp (perspective correction).png, then just select "Image > Autocrop image" to make the canvas fit the image (remove transparent bits around). --Trougnouf 12:04, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  • ✓ DoneHave had another go, don't mind about QI - have learned something and can see improvment so thanks! Prosthetic Head 16:25, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Support the tower is still leaning a little bit to the left but it's much better and a qi to me. --Trougnouf 19:05, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Comment I corrected your original upload and posted the correction on File:Trougnouf's sandbox 2.jpg, feel free to use that one if you don't edit from raw. I used the darktable perspective correction module to automatically find the parameters from a few straight lines (screenshot: File:Darktable screenshot - perspective correction on Oxford Building Sunset.jpg.png), in this case the image should be correctable in gimp by applying a rotation before using the perspective correction tool. --Trougnouf 19:51, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

It looks a bit better, but not a Q1 for me. I think perspective problems and deformations are sometimes very diffult to correct --Michielverbeek 07:38, 20 January 2018 (UTC)

  •  Oppose Perspective, noisy sky, unfortunate left crop. --Basotxerri 09:56, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
  •  Oppose - I'm not bothered by the perspective, but I otherwise agree with Basotxerri and also don't like the tight crop on the right side. -- Ikan Kekek 10:56, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
