@Poco a poco: Thanks for your review - this photo of a relatively small leather book cover was taken under minimal church lighting so am not sure that there is 'camera shake' - can you point to evidence of this for future reference? --Scotch Mist 08:07, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
Other views would be appreciated! --Scotch Mist 06:36, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
Actually, the picture is not sharp which is because of camera shake a the time of capture. With the shutterspeed of 1/60s it's not easy to take a sharp picture handheld. Also, there's too much grain I think which is not fixable. --Fabian Roudra Baroi 03:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
@Fabian Roudra Baroi: You make a valid point but note that when this image is viewed at 'full size' on a typical computer monitor it is magnified many times over the original size of the relatively small leather book cover and IMHO even with use of a camera-stand the perceived "sharpness" would probably not have been noticeably improved beyond that achieved (with auto-vibration cancelling camera setting) but I am not an expert in photographing books in such awkward settings! --Scotch Mist 08:41, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
  •  Oppose Although post-processing has brought a lot out of the flawed original photo, the cropping makes it no longer recognizable that it is a book. For a really good image of such an object under these lighting conditions, you won't be able to avoid using a tripod. Then you can set ISO100 and f/8, for example, and not only the center of the image will be acceptably sharp. --Smial 10:37, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
