Context
[edit]Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona (National Archaeological Museum of Tarragona in English) is a museum founded in the middles of XIX century. Is the Catalonia's oldest of it's kind. It has become the most important museum for the recuperation, conservation and investigation of Tarraco. The museum holds diferent buildings for diferent purposes. The most know is the archaeological museum in the center of the roman city of Tarraco. Museu Nacional Arqueològic de Tarragona also holds a smaller museum in an early Christian cementery, two interpretation points in two roman villas (Roman villa of Centcelles, Roman villa of Munts) in the outskirts of Tarragona aswell as other interpretation points in Arc de Berà, Torre dels Escipions and Roman theater of Tarragona.
Presentation
[edit]During 2014 the museum will upload the first set of images about August and other pieces relationated from the collection of the museum. More content donation and ongoing relationship with Amical Wikimedia will be done in 2015. During the 2013-2014 academic year the museum participated in WikiArS project doing scientfic assessment to illustration students from Escola d'Art i Disseny de Tarragona (School of Art and Design from Tarragona).
