Discussion

Please make a test run for image uploads.
Does anybody review images for Commons:Freedom of panorama#Romania issues before upload]]?
Do you plan to use this bot for creating redirects for files? It creates wrong Turkish titles according to it contributions.
EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:54, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the flickr group is moderated and we review the images for copyright issues, including FoP. This is done by me and user:nicubunu.
No, I do not plan on creating redirects. That was another request. I prefer to use the same username in order to have a better view of the activity level.--Strainu (talk) 17:00, 6 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded 3 pictures so far. The title was manually changed. I believe that if those don't raise any issues, neither will the rest. Thanks.--Strainu (talk) 06:41, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Note: I have requested Flickr reviewer status at Commons:License_review/requests. If this request is not accepted, I will modify the robot not to review the images.--Strainu (talk) 10:00, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You need to use language template for description.
In first 2 images description is useless. Flickr link/text in Author should be enough.
I don't think it's good idea to use general Category:Historical monuments in Romania.
Do file names use proper Romanian symbols? :-)
EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:52, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll update the bot to use language template {{Ro}} and modify it manually if the description is in english or french. I will also remove it manually before upload if it's not relevant to the subject. I will make some more uploads tonight or tomorrow, after the changes.

However, the category structure should be (and currently is) the same as for images uploaded directly through commons in the contest. The filenames use correct diacritics only if the title already has diacritics (e.g. I change Ş in Ṣ and Ţ in Ṭ, but not T in Ț). As a fun fact, so far I haven't seen a single file with diacritics in the title. :) I make no changes in the description and I would prefer not to make any, as this is not an issue when it comes to the usage of the file.--Strainu (talk) 15:19, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I made 4 more uploads. In addition to the suggestions Eugene made, I have also removed {{Uncategorized}}, as there is at least 1 relevant category there: Historical monuments in X County.--Strainu (talk) 21:09, 8 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are there any other comments at this time? I would really like to run the import before the contest ends, at the end of september.--Strainu (talk) 10:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
