Discussion

• No objection with fixing double redirects. Just a question for tagging with {{No source}} and/or {{Untagged}}: will the images come from a predefined list, or a bunch of images at random?  V60 ^{干什么？ · VContribs} 02:32, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

• Well, I can say without hesitation that OsamaK is one of the most trusted and the one of the BoT riders back on ar.wiki and ar.wikinews. I would just like to know more about the bot you are talking about. Was it something you programed yourself or something ready ready? If it was programed by someone else, why would you think it will be of benefit to commons; I mean if you are going to visit the image pages and build a list, wouldn't MediaWiki:Quick-delete.js be a better choice? --Tarawneh 17:32, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

العربية: حسنا، دعني أجربه. بالأمس ركبت الملف في (User:OsamaK/monobook.js) لكن لم تظهر نتائجه عندي :(. أعتقد أن بناء قائمة لا يستغرق الكثير من الوقت (ربما عشر دقائق) لأن الصور المخالفة دائما ما تأتي متواية في التصنيف بسسب أن أسمائها متشابه.وإذا أردت أن أنفذ التجربة هنا فأن مستعد إن شاء الله. أرجو أن تنقل النص للإنجليزية مشكورا :)--OsamaK 13:41, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

  • As far as I can see, there is little to no reason for manually selecting a list of images and then have them processed by a bot for nld and nsd: we have perfect JavaScript for that, which will always notify the last uploader of the file. Using a bot will probably make this go slower. Untagged may be a different matter, as there's a large probability of a back log. Please describe how you are to select the images that are and which tags you will add. Siebrand 13:42, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
    • Make menu is my job :). It's very easy see Category:GPL. We have many images not really license. If this way not good in commons that is Ok. --OsamaK 13:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

    • Your tagging on the images is correct. However, you are not notifying the uploader of the omission of a correct license with the file. If you do not do that, you cannot have a bot make these actions. See the template for what message the uploader should get. Siebrand 11:06, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
