Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: To regularly update economic (time series) charts. For example, as a first task, a new file similar to File:Interest_rates_(1997-2010).png, but as an SVG, overwriting it each month with a new file and updating the description. For the example, I have already built a generator for the SVG, it is available here (it picks up live official data) and then redraws the chart accordingly).

Automatic or manually assisted: Automatic

Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Regularly; e.g. monthly for the example.

Maximum edit rate (eg edits per minute): To start with, 1 edit per month. I could probably stagger the updates if more series were used, any which way, never multiple edits per minute.

Bot flag requested: (Y/N): Y

Programming language(s): PHP, Peachy framework.

Discussion

As an aside, on the English Wikipedia I am both an admin and a member of the Bot Approvals Group. Jarry1250 (talk) 18:25, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please make a test run. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:45, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done Okay, for the example SVG, I uploaded an SVG correct for July, and then had the bot update for August. You can see that it all worked fine (just a couple of tweaks to the automatic description to make, and indeed made). Jarry1250 (talk)
Oh, and the file is File:UK interest rates, May 1997 to present .svg. Jarry1250 (talk) 15:33, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
(I had the bot update again to test some code changes I made. Jarry1250 (talk) 18:49, 20 August 2010 (UTC))[reply]
Looks OK for me. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:32, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For me too. --Schlurcher (talk) 05:45, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If nobody will object, I think we should grant bot status. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:46, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
