- Tested successfully. Jheald (talk) 18:43, 9 October 2014 (UTC)
- May be will be good idea to use templates instead of repeating notices of each page? --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:19, 10 October 2014 (UTC)
- There is quite a lot of use of templates on the pages. For example, the navigation is all templated, and the headers on the "Synoptic index" set, eg Commons:British Library/Mechanical Curator collection/Synoptic index, Europe are templated -- however there was an extra warning to put on the "beta" set, eg Commons:British Library/Mechanical Curator collection/beta/Synoptic index, Europe.
- The "to do" pages -- eg Commons:British Library/Mechanical Curator collection/Synoptic index/to do/France, and its beta equivalent, certainly could have templated headers (they already have templated navigation), but there are a few more parameters, eg the subject area and the shelfmarks covered; plus also they were originally only intended to be temporary, so I never got round to it. I may well revise the header text in the next couple of weeks, and if I do I will probably template it.
- However, batch uploading of updated version still remains very valuable, as the data can change -- eg to make sure entries are removed from the "to do" pages once they get moved to the main set; and to mark up further entries for which maps have been identified (and/or compare the data against tag harvesting from Flickr). So being able to batch-upload updates as a set is something useful. Jheald (talk) 15:51, 10 October 2014 (UTC)

Approved. I'm going ahead and approving the bot for this task. It is a low frequency task, as I understand, and we should have a low bar for these. @Jheald: please keep in mind that the size of these pages you are updating is becoming very large. At some point it may be necessary to split those lists up. You will know when, because the bot will start failing with an error (50X). --Dschwen (talk) 16:29, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Dschwen: Thanks. Some limited splitting up has in fact been done, but one could go further. Job #2 hasn't in fact been run since October 31, but I would envision the next run once all the maps have been identified. (Currently about 64.5% done). Jheald (talk) 21:13, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
