Bot's tasks for which permission is being sought: Adding credit lines to files from Geograph projects.
Automatic or manually assisted: automatic, unsupervised
Edit type (e.g. Continuous, daily, one time run): Initial one-time run, then periodically to add credit lines to newly-uploaded files
Maximum edit rate (e.g. edits per minute): 12 edits per minute
Programming language(s): Python with pywikibot
This is in addition to Geograph Update Bot's existing authorisations for uploading and geocoding.
There's more detail of what the bot will do at User:Geograph Update Bot#Credit lines. Initially, it will combine these edits with location updates, but eventually they'll stand alone (not least on images where the bot has already updated locations). --bjh21 (talk) 21:50, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
Test run complete; see here for the edits. Notable ones:
- File:Quiet lane near Pitter's Farm - geograph.org.uk - 1183720.jpg, where the title has actually changed on Geograph since we got the picture. I think it's OK for the credit line to use the new title, since the author name hasn't changed.
- File:R251 road signs at Glenveagh National Park - geograph.org.uk - 1187149.jpg, where the author name has changed on Geograph. To avoid changing the existing licensing information on Commons, the bot has not added a credit line.

Update: I realised that the bot could make a fair guess at whether the title I proposed to add was the original one that GeographBot saw, so it will initially not add credit lines to pictures in the situation of File:Quiet lane near Pitter's Farm - geograph.org.uk - 1183720.jpg above. --bjh21 (talk) 22:23, 4 February 2018 (UTC)
