Discussion

As a part of Commons:Bots/Work requests#Adding the Information template to files that don't have it I wrote a script to add information template in some cases to reduce the work for humans. I made some test edits [1] Amir (talk) 21:59, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks OK for me, but I think will be good idea to supervise bot, at least check first edit for each user upload. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 15:08, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Does the bot always set the uploader as the author? What if no language templates are found? How does the bot decide what to put in the description field? --Dschwen (talk) 16:03, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, because the bot adds information template if {{Self}} is used in license and if it's not used, the bot skips the page. At first phase I only work on pages that the description only contains language templates and the bot skips otherwiseAmir (talk) 19:11, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I always randomly check edits of my bot to make it's working okay Amir (talk) 19:26, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, this approach sounds conservative enough for to me. We should approve this. --Dschwen (talk) 20:57, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I made another ~50 edits to check and be sure everything is okay [2] Amir (talk) 02:05, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looks OK for me. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 16:02, 13 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
On the 4 I checked you missed an enter on two (causing the header not to work). Mvg, Basvb (talk) 01:35, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It happens when there is no description defined. I fixed and tested on the file and it's okay now Amir (talk) 10:10, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The test edits seem fine to me. The only very minor improvement I see would be to add a space before "|other_versions = " so the field aligns with the rest. --Jarekt (talk) 13:05, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Approved, but please insert the space Jarekt pointed out,Amir. Thanks everyone for the thorough inspection! --Dschwen (talk) 15:06, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I added the space character. Amir (talk) 21:13, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
