Discussion
- What is procedure for categories renaming? Sample in bot's contributions is controversial one because of city name transliteration. And word район is definitely has English equivalent. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 14:26, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- I do not change word raion. I correct raion names. And Kiev is used per descision on CFD.--Anatoliy (talk) 18:55, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- @Eugene: see User:CommonsDelinker/commands. Ahonc renames categories with his bot on request which is - imho - a good thing to do. Trijnsteltalk 19:42, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Comment The bot transfers fomr other wikis are quite problematic: see here - a) it is unclear if the ukrainian user is really the author of this image (there is not "own work" or some comparable statement there) b) the image description was not copied c) no categories added. Should all be fixed. --High Contrast (talk) 20:56, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- I use pywikipediabot's imagecopy script. It is based on CommonsHelper which works bad with uk-wiki images. So those descriptions and categories will be added manually later.Anatoliy (talk) 21:03, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- If hundreds or thousands of images get transferred, there is a lot to do then. Anatoliy, I think we have found a volunteer for that job right now ;) --High Contrast (talk) 21:08, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- Now there are less than 100 images to transfer.--Anatoliy (talk) 21:17, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
- That was a close shave! So, you as the creator of the bot should check all the bot uploads and fix them accordingly. If your bot is not able to upload images with valid source and author informatio (per COM:L), then a human must do this. --High Contrast (talk) 16:18, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
- hello) i am really sorry for all the troubles caused - please, do not be cross with ahonc. that was me, myself and i that have pleaded with him for the big file transfer here. and i am going to check every upload of the bot and fix it. i promise. i do --antanana 21:59, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

Please can you reduce the scope of the tasks for which permission is being sought? "Other tasks in the pywikipedia framework" includes an awful lot - even including things like mass deletions since you're an administrator. To approve such a generic request, I'd need to see good examples of a lot of different operations during the test run. --99of9 (talk) 09:02, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Closed as stale. --Dschwen (talk) 17:10, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
