Chinese oil painting is a rather uncommon practice, the cultural norm being black and white painting made with Chinese ink (a form of water color) on paper.

Landscape by CHEN Chengpo, painted in 1933. The scene is from suburban Taipei, a community called Tamsui in Taiwanese and Danshui in Mandarin. Its dimensions are 89×115cm and it is current in the collection of the Taiwan Museum of Fine Art
