Rename request

[edit]
@ŠJů: The company does not introduce this vehicle as Mercedes-Benz Zetros 3543[1]. de:Mercedes-Benz Zetros also introduces this vehicle as Paul Zetros 3543 8×8 TA. More sources needed? Onhigan (talk) 19:31, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Onhigan:
  • At the linked page of Paul company, I can see "Zetros 8x8 TA" or "ZETROS 3543 8X8 NLA" and "ZETROS 3543 8X8 TA" but not "Paul Zetros…" together. While in its specification, the chassis is mentioned as "Mercedes-Benz Zetros 2743 6x6". There are only few occurences of "Paul Zetros…" in Google. There are various formats, e.g. "Mercedes Paul Zetros 3543" or "Mercedes-Benz Zetros 3543 8x8 TA from Paul" or "Mercedes-Benz Zetros 3543 8x8 TA by Paul". The sources are not quite convincing and the proposed form is not stabilized.
  • The second question is how to organize the categories to have all Zetros vehicles together. --ŠJů (talk) 23:26, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ŠJů: Are you serious? Paul produced this vehicle as Zetros 3543, so "Paul Zetros 3543" would be the most appropriate name of this category. If you hate Paul so much, I don't care to rename to just "Zetros 3543". Other two Zetros categories are actual MB products, so no need to rename. Onhigan (talk) 15:27, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Onhigan: If Paul company produces some Mercedes-Benz model, it's not so self-evident which designation it uses for those products. Your source doesn't use or document the label "Paul Zetros" and Google indicates that such a label is used very rarely outside Wikimedia Commons, and I cited other used names, which contain both company names. When the Karosa factory was owned by Irisbus and Irisbus was co-owned by Renault and Iveco, there also was not quite self-evident which of the four marks were used on the vehicles produced there and in other sources: offers, technical documentation, in presentations of owners and operators etc. We had also a problem that the same model from the same factory was labelled diversely - according the target customer, year of production etc. It's not self-evident and that's why we need to research sources. There are many ways how to name such products: we have Škoda 28Tr Solaris or Škoda 33Tr SOR, Škoda-Sanos 200Tr etc.
And the second question is how to organize the categories to have all Zetros vehicles together. --ŠJů (talk) 19:20, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ŠJů: Hey, You have already renamed to "Mercedes-Benz Zetros 3543 by Paul" with the reason "prevalently used name", but all I could find the similar name was https://www.alexmiedema.nl/2018/12/08/mercedes-benz-zetros-3543-8x8-ta-by-paul/ and its link from pinterest and facebook. Is this really appropriate way to rename? Onhigan (talk) 21:29, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Onhigan: Do you have some better sources for the full name of the vehicle model? Paul Nutzfahrzeuge is a partner of Mercedes-Benz and produces vehicles on Mercedes-Benz chassis with a conspicuous logo of Mercedes-Benz on their frontal masks. That's why the trucks are commonly named and perceived as Mercedes-Benz vehicles. If we want mention the final producer, we can see the additional "by Paul" or "from Paul" in the Pinterest and Facebook. The website of Paul Nutzfahrzeuge doesn't mention any form of the full name, including a name of the companies or company. As soon as we find some more relevant sources, we can adapt to them. --ŠJů (talk) 21:43, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ŠJů: Anyway, Now I understand that agreement was not needed to change category names. And let me finish wasting time with you. Thank you. Onhigan (talk) 16:28, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Onhigan: It's your choice whether you contribute something relevant to the discussion. Of course, it is useful to assess each proposal and check and consider the situation, arguments and available resources. --ŠJů (talk) 18:05, 25 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
