Inaccurate images?

[edit]

Given than less that 15% of editors are women. A young guy with a sexy japanese Codpiece might be more appropriate. Carolmooredc (talk) 19:45, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No, I don't think so. Fred Bauder (talk) 19:55, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK. What needs to be done is start coming up with group wikipe-tans that have males and females and young and old. Different races. Get busy artists. Carolmooredc (talk) 20:40, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Carolmooredc has a point. If we keep the bikini image or the silly pastnowfuturegirl, why not create a sexy male Wikipe-tan with "interesting" body parts too? Is it our intention to attract young male computer nerds with an interest in childish bikini girls or should wikipe-tan be more like an adult with a grown up encyclopedic interest and ability? (I make no comments about obvious sexism. It's - well - too obvious here) --Adornix (talk) 21:10, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I did leave a nice message for the artist, once I realized it actually was a Wikipedian, with this suggestion on his English page. Carolmooredc (talk) 23:13, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipe-tan as Personalization of Wikipedia

[edit]

Could a note just be added that says the Wikipe-tan isn't an official mascot, maybe giving some of the history of her beginning as an icon for the anime project? Elocina (talk) 23:30, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good start. Also link to Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan. Carolmooredc (talk) 00:59, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like that particular article has been deleted. Elocina (talk) 01:57, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
