Urban photography: Is abandonment implied?

Hey all. Just looking for second opinions regarding whether urban photography as a category implies an abandoned location. Quick searches for urban photography outside of the commons yields lots of lively results of places clearly utilized and traveled. Urban means urban, not abandoned. I understand that it's only my opinion on the matter but I think the category isn't restrained to abandoned places. The last of these articles describes "urbexing", or urban exploration, which may be better suited for an emphasis on abandonment. See Village pump where I pinged you. When I created the category, I based it on what I've read in a few articles in photo magazines. That was apparently too limited and not correct. Wouter (talk) 18:33, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
