I have a 45 rpm (remember vinyl?) record of 4 songs from Disney's "Song of the South". Has their version of Uncle Remus portrayed on the jacket.

I got this as part of a return (from my parents) of my childhood memorabilia (I'm 49 at this posting in 2008).

I'm currently Feng Shui 'ing my home, and am at a loss in terms of how to handle this particular artifact - I see it as both a racist icon (which is personally disgusting to me) and a cherished childhood memory. Should I hold it as memorabilia, or destroy it as a representation of the evil it promoted? I'm a child of change. Maybe I should reverence it as a representation of the change that's liberated me, and countless others?

Please feel free to e-mail me your thoughts at [email removed] (the hyphen is indeed part of the addy).

Sorry, Paul, but this is probably not the best forum for your question. The only people watching this page are likely those who created or modified this category, and it's not really Commons's place to host debates on topics like these. I have removed your email address from your message, as it was vulnerable to email collecting programs that sell your address to spammers. I hope you find the answers you seek elsewhere! — Dulcem 07:04, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
