1904 edition

[edit]

If anyone was curious about the copyright status: yes, H.N. died 2 years too late for the Copyright Act of 1911's life + 50 years to apply by 1996 and is still about 2 years short of the EU's current life + 70 but, even if there wasn't an American printing before 1923 (which seems likely: Internet Archive, e.g., gives the date as 1916), there's no actual acknowledgement of his connection to the work in any copies I've seen (falling under the EU's anonymous publication + 70) and it falls under PD-1996 since he didn't hold the copyright under the then-existing UK law in 1996. — LlywelynII 05:17, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
