Terra Santa is in Nicosia, Terra Sancta in Jerusalem!

[edit]

Not at all the same. Three photos, showing "Terra SANTA College" (not SANCTA) of Nicosia, are wrongly attached to this category. Explanation: they're both schools created by the Custody of the Holy Land from Jerusalem, in Latin "Custodia Tarrae Sanctae". The Italian name contains "santa"; the Latin version, "sancta". The Jerusalem school also had an Italian name until WWII, when the British authorities confiscated Italian property as belonging to an enemy nation, and the Custody changed the name to the Latin version.

Whatever. The two don't belong together. Under "Custody of the Holy Land" yes, but not under "Terra Sancta". What can be done? Arminden (talk) 04:03, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Kw0, Talmoryair, Netanel h, עדירל, Ori~, Djampa, and Ulf Heinsohn: hi. Several issues:

  • pls see above section; that one is a real bummer

Categories: do we need to be 100% accurate, or does the Wiki category system allow for such inaccuracies, to help users with the search?

  • it's on Keren HaYesod, not King George Street, which ends just before Paris Square.
  • it's in Talbiya, not Rehavia; just facing Rehavia.

"Built in Jerusalem in 1927": Elyahu Wager has it inaugurated in 27, but all the Custody page articles have it built in 26. N.B.: the school only opened in the school year 28-29. I don't know what to believe. Did most of the construction happen in 26, they had some ceremony and started the admin. work in 27, and the enrollment only kicked in for the 28-29 year? Any more detailed & reliable source? Cheers, Arminden (talk) 13:34, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
