Oppose There is no single article or category on the en:wikipedia that points to a still-life writing preference. This certainly don't justify a rename of more than 100 categories. --Foroa (talk) 09:17, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

- "Still life" without the hyphen is common and accepted, for whatever reason. Reviewing Google Books, there are many examples of book titles without the hyphen... so oppose given the work involved. - Sorry, but I disagree. I think spelling is of upmost importancy. If you think that both are correct, you should be able to point that out in some kind of dictionary. The dictionary I have used clearly says that when still life is used as adjective it's spelled with hyphen. See http://www.thefreedictionary.com/still+life. Oppose If the National Gallery in London thinks that "Still Life" is the right spelling then that's certainly good enough for me - and a lot of other people. For more about still life at the National Gallery see The Story of Still Life; The Modern Still Life etc. Also the dictionary quoted has no serious status within dictionaries generally. - Hi Cosmopolitancats, I'm afraid you're wrong. In your example still life is used as a noun (a still life). Still life here is used as an adjective (still-life paintings). So you must look for this last usage. Vincent Steenberg (talk) 06:42, 27 April 2013 (UTC)
