Wrong lemma change

[edit]

Hello Joris! Your edits don't go along with the Commons regulations. According to Commons:Language policy, user HyperGaruda once moved this category from category:Station Voorhout to category:Voorhout train station, because English should be the standard language. So, there is/was no need to change the category of the separate pictures and I would ask you to undo your edits. Best regards -- Fantaglobe11 (talk) 22:21, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fantaglobe, I wasn't aware it had been changed before or there was such a regulation. English by default could be the rule, but it's certainly not common practice. Just look at these categories Category:Amsterdam-Rotterdam railway and Category:085 Haarlem-Warmond, the latter being the reason I changed the cat name to have it the same as the other stations. BTW station xx is the common name for a railway station, just as we use the Dutch word "kerk" for church in almost all Dutch church related categories Category:Churches_in_Venlo. Please let me know if you still want me to revert my edits after reading this and I will do that. After all, it's just a category name, so it isn't really important. Kind regards, Joris (talk) 20:04, 8 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Currently there seems to be no common practice at all regarding Category:Train stations in South Holland, some having been named Train station [insert name], others [insert name] train station, or Station [insert name]. Without clear consensus, I simply turned back to the basic rules of Commons:Language policy. --HyperGaruda (talk) 20:54, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
