I believe this category needs to change its title to people using smartphones or traffic and smartphones due to the perjorative nature of the category title, see en:Smartphone zombies --E.3 (Talk to Dr Peter James Chisholm). I sometimes don't understand rules, and I think abstractly. [1] 05:32, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose Smartphones are everywhere now and so we need several categories for this. "Traffic and smartphones" is more appropriate for vehicular traffic and that's an even bigger issue, as it's a common and serious offense in most jurisdictions to use a phone while driving. The equivalent issue for pedestrians is more light-hearted and so the current category name seems ok. Andrew (talk) 10:07, 22 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
To you its is OK. But did anyone ask any of the subjects of the photographs if they were happy to be labelled a Zombie? What if they have a serious mental health condition such as internet addiction disorder and the commons has decided to call them a Zombie without express permission? There has been a book written about how pejorative this is in the language of English. If other languages wish to use it, then the title be in that language where it perhaps less pejorative. --E.3 (Talk to Dr Peter James Chisholm). If you look at the Google Image search for smartphone zombie you will see how quickly it happens due to the search algorithms. Just a few hours ago the image I uploaded is now in the top results, with a similar search being the zombie apocalypse. I use it for English wiki as these people are actors who were presumably paid. All of the other people, potentially are fine or have serious mental health conditions, we will almost certainly never know. So I'm simply suggesting that we call it people using smartphones. Then there is no stigmatisation about something we will never know both here and on google image search. --E.3 (Talk to Dr Peter James Chisholm).
