Moving request

[edit]

It was requested by user:Orrling to move to category:Sheikh Shu'ala, with rational: "Typing/pronunciation error: Should be Sheikh Shu'ala, it's Arabic. Tagged 2012-01-23". Care to comment, @4nn1l2, Ahmad252, and Mhhossein: ?--Estopedist1 (talk) 19:45, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have a limited understanding of Arabic. I think you should ask a native speaker of Arabic. @علاء: is a better choice. 4nn1l2 (talk) 20:08, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know Arabic that much. --Mhhossein talk 10:34, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks 4nn1l2. Hello Estopedist1, items merged in Wikidata. It's not easy to say if it correct or not; due to transliteration. In Arabic it's equal (الشيخ شعلة), and there's no Ayin in English. It is better to rely on reliable sources in naming this place, and per «The Survey of Western Palestine: Arabic and English Name Lists» published in 1882, page 192: Skeikh Shala, also «The Manasseh Hill Country Survey: The Shechem Syncline» published in 2004, page 482: Shekih Shala or Sheikh Sha'aleh. It's worth to mention that Shala or Sha'aleh means "flame". Best --Alaa :)..! 16:17, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
