From en:Santos it is clear that Santos cannot be used as a category as it creates too much confusion. So, it should be either deleted or redirected as it is now because so far, most of the Santos images where related to Saints. On commons, whenever there is a potential confusion between names, all have to use a disambiguation extension, no one has priority over the other, except some extremely famous cities, such as Rome, London, Paris ... --Foroa (talk) 18:06, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disambig on such simple names attract everything and nobody cares to clear that out or to maintain it when other Santos related categories are added. If you want to make a disambiguation page, it should be called "Santos (disambiguation)". --Foroa (talk) 19:38, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty much all those instances at en:Santos are not true disambiguations, it's rather a soup of names containing "Santos" with very little use as a disambiguation, and very arguable utility. I've moved this away, to move back here the Brazilian municipality. Not even in Portuguese and Spanish, where Santos is a native word, it is prone to confusion, let alone in a Anglophone, multicultural project as this one. It's really a case of being more papist than the pope.-- Darwin Ahoy! 16:53, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
