@Hornstrandir1: Could you please add a description and/or a Wikidata item for this new category? What is "recent" in geology? In Commons "recent" is rarely or not used because it is a vague word: normally what today is recent, may be outdated in a few years or decades, but in geology that may be different. So if you use this word, please explain it. JopkeB (talk) 15:59, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I thought about geology as phenomena (not as the science, but more as the object of science, like sediments etc.) from historical times (ca. the last 6000 years), in contrast to the 1st half of Holocene. And in parallel to volcanism, where the expression "recent volcanism" is used and found in scientific literature (see eg. Chr. Small, etal., The global distribution of human population and recent volcanism (2001).)Hornstrandir1 (talk) 16:31, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Hornstrandir1: Thanks for your explanation. Can you still add a description, for casual passersby with no knowledge of the subject, like me? Even more so because there is no Wikipedia page about this subject. JopkeB (talk) 06:13, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your description. I think this issue has been solved. JopkeB (talk) 10:50, 3 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
