Should "Category:Old Manuscripts from the Deutsche Fotothek" be removed from individual images once they get one or more categories of their own? --Jonund (talk) 18:16, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Originally I was using this category to keep track of which images were grouped into books which were then added to Category:Books from the Deutsche Fotothek (see Category:Images from the Deutsche Fotothek for explanation). In most cases, I was trying to categorize books not individual images. Once image had book category I was removing Category:Old Manuscripts from the Deutsche Fotothek category. However, I was effectively discouraged from classifying Deutsche Fotothek images and moved on to other collections, so at the moment this category is not actively used by anybody (as far as I know), and you can probably use it whichever way is more useful to you. --Jarekt (talk) 20:38, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The name of this category is weird. None of the images (on the first page, at least), are manuscripts, these are all printed books. --AndreasPraefcke (talk) 10:53, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the name of this category is misleading. --Pp.paul.4 (talk) 16:49, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
