Title

[edit]

This category title contains a "-" as opposed to a "–" which is used by related Commons categories and articles on the English Wikipedia. I have created a category containing the latter character which redirects to this category. However, I think it would be more consistent to move the content of this category to the name with the "–" and then make this category redirect to that one. I would like some feedback on this. Stopp fucking around with hyphens. Only hyphens can be typed in easily by Commons users, substituting other marks makes it impossiblt for users to access the categories/ Beyond My Ken (talk) 11:28, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
All I was hoping to achieve was consistency; I had no preference as to whether a category title contained a hyphen or dash. Since there already were two related subcategories, New York–Penn League teams and New York–Penn League stadiums, which contained dashes, the less disruptive option was to change this category's name from containing a hyphen to a dash. Now, you introduced a valid reason for the use of hyphens. If you had just posted this in response to my initial suggestion (hopefully, without the profanity!), I would have gladly proposed changing the two category names with dashes to contain hyphens on their respective talk pages. I see you have already done this to New York–Penn League teams, and I am in favor of doing the same for New York–Penn League stadiums. Waz8 (talk) 03:37, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
