Cat

[edit]

Why we need this parent/child cat problem. It's a violation of com:cat--Sanandros (talk) 22:40, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, while I'm aware of this issue, this is a circumstance where I believe it is justified. The issue is that people browsing from the base rocket type category (such as Category:Minotaur IV) will likely find it useful to be able to use the drop-down menu to see which payloads were associated with which specific rockets. However, a particular rocket necessarily belongs to a particular payload. Both rocket and payload necessarily need to have each other as a subcategory, since they are intrinsically related yet entirely separate entities. The current absolute rules for categorisation simply don't always work. Huntster (t @ c) 02:13, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
ok can we then rename it in launch of satellite xy? This launch will have one parent which is the rocket and the other will be the sattelite.--Sanandros (talk) 07:56, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That would be rather redundant in most cases, especially since where there may be only images of the rocket stationary on the pad, or otherwise not in a state of launch. Huntster (t @ c) 12:28, 29 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
