Morrison Electrics

[edit]

This category is for the experimental electric vehicles made by William Morrison of Des Moines, Iowa, made between c. 1886 and 1896 up to 12 electric vehicles. None had a commercial background, he built them as test mules for his patented battery. When he didn't need a vehicle any longer, he sold it and invested the money in further experiments, and his next car. His best known vehicle is the c. 1893 built Morrison-Sturges that was driven at the Chicago Times-Herald Contest in 1895 by Harold Sturges. By then the eldest car in the race, owner Sturges had it worked over, and fitted another engine. It failed early.--Chief tin cloud (talk) 12:50, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
