Synapsids are not reptiles

It is now generally accepted that Synapsida and Reptilia (=Sauropsida) are sister taxa. Mammals and more basal synapsids are not reptiles. It surprises me that so many people try to argue with this (@ערוניקיערוניק: and several anonymous editors), including this category in the category Montages of reptiles (instead of Montages of Chordata).
