Category talk:Maps of Bretagne
Je ne cherche pas querelle au sujet, mais il faut constater que le nom de catégorie " maps of Bretagne " soit l'un des plus bizarres que j'ai vu. Pourquoi le commencer en anglais puis le terminer en français ? Le choix naturel, c'est soit " cartes de Bretagne " soit " maps of Brittany ". Étant donné qu'il existe déjà une catégorie "Cartes de Bretagne" en usage, pourquoi pas s'en servir ? /// I don't want to get into an edit war about this, but "Maps of Bretagne" is one of the silliest category name I've seen. Why start in English and end in French? Surely "Cartes de Bretagne" or "Maps of Brittany" are the natural choices. - The rule in Commons is that categories are in English. So, there are not a lot of possibilities for this category name: the standard form is “Maps of <area>”, and we have just to select the correct area. - Qui est de plus, la distinction Bretagne:Brittany qu'on cherche faire dans la Wikipédia anglaise lui est originelle et anormale. Quand il le faut, on distingue ces deux entités en français par les mots « Région Bretagne » ou « Bretagne (historique) ». En anglais, la traduction normale est toujours Brittany (soit Brittany Region soit (historic) Brittany selon le cas). QuartierLatin1968 19:46, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- The English Wikipedia keeps the French names for all current French regions. See en:Régions de France. So, the title en:Bretagne is coherent with en:Bourgogne and other en.wp articles about these regions.
