Wich is the first?

[edit]

The resevoir depends of the Dam, not the oposite. GualdimG (talk) 08:41, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Any image depicting the dam would also depict the reservoir, or at least it would depict the reservoir shore very next to the water even if taken from behind the dam. Reservoir images on the other hand, if taken at different shore or at differenct direction, don't depict the dam at all. Therefore to me it makes more sense to make dam category into a subcategory of reservoir category, not the other way around. 2001:7D0:81DB:1480:51AE:7FA1:E275:4F20 08:49, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Any image depicting the dam would also depict the reservoir", is not correct. If the dam is not closed, there would not be any reservoir. If you take a picture of the dam from downstream you would not see any reservoir. The reservoir depends of the existence of the dam, not the opposite. GualdimG (talk) 08:58, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
My take is that an image depicting reservor shore or river bed section where the reservoir previously laid can be also used to describe the reservoir directly. While image depicting the opposite shore from dam doesn't really describe the latter stucture directly.
The reservoir does depend on the dam, but I think more importantly we should check if dam categories (including subcategories) include images that actually depeict dams, and also the same in reservoir categories. 2001:7D0:81DB:1480:51AE:7FA1:E275:4F20 09:42, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
