@Tuvalkin: The category is called Trams by quantity, so why do you think that this category should be categorized there? Media showing Lisbon trams by number would fit in Trams by quantity by country, but in Trams by quantity only categories showing a certain number of trams can be categorized. |FDMS (WP: en, de) 20:17, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but there’s no Category:Trams by quantity by country or Category:Trams by quantity by city so far. Category:Trams by quantity is the parent of any of those two possible new categories, so that can be shortcutted to have categories by city (so far only Lisbon, but many more could be easily created) also listed under it; the key shows clarly that intent and allows for a clean display on the category page. Please note that if/when Category:Trams by quantity by city is created, its sibling Category:Trams by quantity by number should also be created. That is however still premature. -- Tuválkin 20:28, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I just do not really see any kind of sense in this. These [...] by number categories are made for people looking for media with a certain amount of trams on it. They amount is the first criteria, when they have reached the Media showing [...] trams category and not earlier they might (have to) decide which kind of trams should be on the media - if they were at first looking for media with a certain amount of Lisbon trams on it they would look for it at Category:Trams in Lisbon, wouldn't they? |FDMS (WP: en, de) 20:35, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
