Latium is English, Lazio is Italian, very simple. The vote held there was not clear [1] and the original article was at Latium. Gryffindor 17:17, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I have no personal opinion about the correct English name for this province of Italy. I implement a method, and this method gives me a clue that Lazio would be the name for the Commons category. If you act without method or reference, that means that you take arbitrary decisions. The voting procedure on the Wikipedia is often prone to nationalistic infighting. A number of Italian users pushed for "Lazio", even though the article was originally named "Latium", the Britannica article also states that the "Latium". And quit accusing me of arbitrary decissions, you have gotten many times in trouble with other users because of your tone, don't make it worse. Gryffindor 22:31, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

In Dutch (for example, my feeling is that this is more or less the same in English) one can use both Lazio and Latium for the modern region, but only Latium for the ancient one. Latium (in Dutch and? in English) therefore has a slightly broader (and more ambiguous) meaning than Lazio in this context. If this category is only about the current political/geographical entity, the Italian region of Lazio, it should imho be Category:Lazio. Just my 2 cents. NielsF ^{?
