@BSRF: Ice Sports Hall is a very unspecific Category Name. Why do you insist on having such a "simplified" translated name instaead of using the original name of the Object, like Category:Eissporthalle Kassel, Category:Hala Olivia‎, Category:Stadion Zimowy Tychy‎.Xgeorg (talk) 06:43, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

1) Commons:Naming categories#Language states that category names should generally be in English. But you renamed the category in Turkish. 2) The original name of the venue does not include the word "Bornova". If you think otherwise please provide a source. 3) We can add {{Distinguish}} to the top of the category if you think it causes confusion with Category:Ice hockey venues but it's not necessary in my opinion.--BSRF (talk) 06:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Commons:Naming categories#Language:Proper names of individual' people, places, buildings, organizations etc. and other specific names of local phenomena, should in general use the name most frequently used in English-language literature. For subjects of only local relevance, proper names in the original language are used generally. I would not expect that this sports venue has a name most frequently used in English-language literature. So the local relevance is in my opinion dominant for the naming.Xgeorg (talk) 07:08, 9 June 2020 (UTC) (like many, many other sports, culture, music, opera, .... venues)[reply]
International Ice Hockey Federation names the venue in English as Izmir B.B. Ice Sports Hall.[1][2] Isn't it enough?--BSRF (talk) 07:34, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Then name it Izmir B.B. Ice Sports Hall. 07:41, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
Izmir BB stands for Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the owner of the venue. Short form of the name of the venue is Buz Sporları Salonu in Turkish.[3] Thus Ice Sports Hall is the correct translation. There is no need to use the long form "İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Ice Sports Hall".--BSRF (talk) 07:46, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So, you are not following any of both possible naming rules - neither original name, nor name in literature. Weak position. Xgeorg (talk) 08:09, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Original name in Turkish cannot be given to the category per above discussion. Ice Sports Hall is the most widely used name for the venue. IIHF uses the long form, other sources like this one,[4] use the short form. Calling my arguments as "weak position" is not nice.--BSRF (talk) 08:37, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but your position is weak. And you already recognized it. Xgeorg (talk) 12:57, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
