Oppose en:Gitxsan people is OK and leaves place for derivates (language, people, ...)

Neutral Either way is fine, as long as it is spelt 'Gitxsan'. We may also have to create Category:Gitxsan Nation for their territory. Fungus Guy (talk) 19:56, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Support I would think Gitxsan would leave place for derivatives (language, peoples, etc). Why do you oppose, Foroea? - Themightyquill (talk) 14:17, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
One has to define a clear root for the nation, people, language, nation, folklore and so on. When you define Gitxsan as a root name, it would work but receive everything vaguely related to it, there are several of Gitxsan associations, places, ... and I guess over time companies, products, songs, So we rae better clear as the en:wiki. --Foroa (talk) 09:19, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support "Gitksan" is an outdate spelling, no longer in use by these people or the governments who deal with them. And NB Fungus Guy, their territory has a different name in their language, "Gitxsan" means "People of the Skeena River" and is a reference to the people. The Gitxsan Nation is an organization.Skookum1 (talk) 10:46, 30 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong support When wikipedia's own article calls this people 'Gitxsan'. I think this should be approved. Plus, I was in the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver, and the museum label there called this a Gitxsan artwork. It used that exact word. Any other word is just confusing matters. --Leoboudv (talk) 05:26, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment: Should wikipedia advise the Gitxsan people to change their Official website spelling because it doesn't conform to our older spelling of "Gitksan" for them? I would think not which is why this category should be renamed Gitxsan. Best Regards, --Leoboudv (talk) 05:32, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
