Georgian is an ambiguous term.

[edit]

The term "Georgian" is ambiguous. In the UK and many countries that for some time were English colonies, Georgian style is rather the architectural style that was preferred under the rule of the four Georges of the Hanoveran dynasty, 1714–1830. The country on the south side of the Caucasus calls itself Sakartvelo and its language and culture Kartuli. An alternative international term is Gruzia/Grusia/Grusinia for the country and Grusin(ian) for language and culture. In all cases, in which "Georgian" can be misunderstood, "Grusinian" should be preferred. The international public is troughout able to learn, see Bombay/Mumbai.--Ulamm (talk) 20:41, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
