Poker chips

[edit]

I note a rather lack of photos of various poker chips, especially those found at actual casinos, rather than the cheaper chips found home games. Indeed, the premier brand (Paulson) is not represented at all, except here with a broken-open chip. The famous "top hat and cane" logo of Paulson should be represented here. Is anyone "all in" with me, to get more photos of various high-quality poker chips uploaded to Commons? -- Thekohser (talk) 14:40, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that actual chips from casinos may have illustrations on them. Unless you obtain permission from the copyright holders of the illustrations, photographs of the chips will constitute unauthorized derivative works which cannot be hosted by the Commons. Chips which do not have illustrations but only text and simple shapes should be all right ({{PD-textlogo}} applies). To discuss this issue further, leave a message at "Commons:Village pump/Copyright". — Cheers, JackLee talk 18:55, 20 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
