Sonata No. 7

[edit]

User:MisterSanderson has now twice added the line "See also: Category:Piano Sonata No. 7 (Beethoven)" to this category, most recently with the edit summary "Sonata nº7 was dedicated for Elise, so, it's called Für Elise".

As far as I know, en:Piano Sonata No. 7 (Beethoven) is dedicated to Countess Anne Margarete von Browne, and I am not aware of any dispute about that. On the other hand, the dedicatee of Für Elise is subject of speculation and research; candidates are Elisa von der Recke, Therese Malfatti or Elisabeth Röckel. Recke met Beethoven only in 1811, 13 years after Sonata No. 7 was written, Malfatti was six years old when Sonata No. 7 was written, and Röckel was then five years old. Consequently none of those three could be the dedicatee of that sonata.

I still fail to see the relevance of Sonata No. 7 relating to Für Elise. I suggest to remove that line. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:02, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone added wrong information at the portuguese wikipedia, and I based my editions in this wrong version. Sorry. --MisterSanderson (talk) 15:46, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
