Ethnographic museums vs Ethnological museums

[edit]

I wonder, whether it is correct to put so called "ethnographic" museums in such a category, as eventually by this description "ethnological" museums are meant ? I am not a specialist and might be wrong, but is ethnography (in English) not a divison of ethnology ? And are most museums in Eastern Europe who are called ethnographical in fact not ethnological ? Is that even existing: a ethnographic museum, I wonder, what would be shown in such a museum ? --Wistula (talk) 09:24, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

All such museums should be included in a single category. The differences between these names are only theoretical (or due to differences between languages) and have little or nothing to do with the actual museums. For the sake of our users, please put all of them together into one category, please, whatever its name may be. Ethnological would be my first choice, too. --FA2010 (talk) 16:29, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
