this category was placed in Category:Child sexual abuse, but its really the reverse. child sexual abuse is a SUBSET of erotic activities involving children, and is also a recent (if very necessary) way to categorize much child sexuality. however, drawings of children/youth engaging in sexual activities, created before such laws existed, are not child sexual abuse. I am trying to determine why these images (line drawings from a while ago) are all classed as such, when i cant determine if they are in fact children or youth. i will have to research the artist a bit. To the person above: yes, they are disturbing, but they are part of our human heritage, and thus applicable here. Others might find images of footbinding, slavery, bloody corpses, death camp corpses, etc. equally disturbing. remember: viewing an image doesnt harm someone. (though photographs of children in sexual situations are proof of a crime, if taken after such laws were established.). courts want to see how YOU are directly hurt by someone elses actions before they pass a law prohibiting it. you need standing. a casual reader of an encyclopedia is not harmed by there being images here that offend them. thats why obscenity laws in the western world are becoming less inclusive. who is actually harmed?Mercurywoodrose (talk) 00:35, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
