Category talk:Electric locomotives of Germany

Hello everybody,

I've sorted the files in this category directly in subcatgories like DB Class 181. My suggestion is to sort all new pictures in this category in subcatgories in the form "railway company of commissioning Class class description".

Possible values for railway company of commissioning are e. g.:

• DRG for Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft
• DB for Deutsche Bundesbahn
• DR for Deutsche Reichsbahn
• DBAG for Deutsche Bahn AG

and

• Bavarian for Königlich Bayerische Staatsbahn (Bavarian State Railway)
• Prussian for Königlich Preußische Staatsbahn (Prusian State Railway)

and so on ...

If anybody wants to help sorting the pictures in this scheme: Please feel free to do so!

I'm not certain this is such a good plan - perhaps using the operator and class at the time of the photograph would be clearer. If a non-expert uploads a picture of 143 002 then they'll be looking for a DBAG class 143 category to add it to... Railwayfan2005 (talk) 20:03, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

This could cause multiple categories for one class of locomotive like

• DB Class E03
• DB Class 103
• DBAG Class 103

or

• DR Class 243
• DR Class 143
• DBAG Class 143

My idea was to collect all pictures of a class in only one categoy. ;-)
