Ducati "SS" - "Supersport"
[edit]This unification is wrong because the model "Ducati SS" (1973-1982) is not the model "Ducati Supersport" (1988-1998).
They are two completely different models and different denominations.

- As you can on official Ducati website [1], the right name is Supersport (SS in the short name), for the two generation of bike. As you can see on the various picture (for example), the bike is named 900 Supersport.
Dédélembrouille (talk) 11:26, 4 October 2011 (UTC)- You're wrong: there is model "SS" (acronym for "Super Sport"), later called theSuper Sport, but the "Supersport" is a completely different model and not derived from the previous one.
- This is a Ducati SS (1973-1977)
- This is a Ducati Super Sport (1974-1982)
- This is a Ducati Supersport (1988-1998)
- The official Ducati website is incomplete and it is easy to become confused. :) --Ligabo (talk) 15:52, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

- I dont't understand. You give me a picture : Ducati SS. You says that's a Ducati SS, but it's written Ducati Super Sport on it...
- So, there is 2 generation :
- Ducati Super Sport (shortly named SS) 1973 -> 1982
- Ducati Supersport (shortly named SS too) 1988 -> 2006

- That's right: two models, one called "SS" aka "Super Sport" (1973-1982) and the other called "Supersport" (1988-1998).
- The "Super Sport" has the open cradle frame with bevel-driven motor.
- The "Supersport" has the engine hanging on the trellis frame, belt driven.
- They are two completely different models and this is why I separated them.

You called the first one Super Sport SS. But the second Supersport can be called SS too. We have to create a new category:Ducati Super Sport, not a category:Ducati SS.

- The official name of 1973 was "SS", but it works well "Super Sport". You choose. --Ligabo (talk) 14:33, 5 October 2011 (UTC)
Or we create a category:Ducati SS. In this category, we put category:Ducati Super Sport and category:Ducati Supersport. Are you ok ?

- Sorry, maybe I can not explain because of the automatic translator: the model "Supersport" is not derived from the "SS".
- IMHO, the classification would be ideal:
