Category talk:Downtowns in the United States by state

I've just done some cleaning up of "Downtown" categories in Louisiana. There were a fair number of categories for supposed "downtowns" for small communities in Louisiana that were very dubious, created by a blocked user (who has gone under a number of sock-puppet names). For example for a small town "Xville", they create a subcat of "Category:Xville" called "Downtown Xville", sometimes with just one or two images in it. In one case, for a settlement of less than 200 people, they created a category of a supposed "Downtown" which contained a photo of a small unpainted wooden house in a large field. That's a somewhat extreme example, but not by much. I deleted some of the most obviously useless and dubious, consolidating media into the village, town, or settlement category (always rather sparsely populated anyways) in the "Downtowns in Louisiana" category. I know the blocked user also made contributions to some other southern states, possibly elsewhere as well. I wanted to give a heads up to look for similar dubious "downtown" categories to people working with other US states. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 23:09, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Could you rephrase the question? I"m not sure what you're trying to ask. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 03:04, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
What is your definition of a "downtown"? -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 03:08, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
