[edit]Power station or pumped-storage scheme? I reversed the change to keep Category:Dinorwig pumped storage scheme. This to make it possible to split between various parts of the scheme that aren't next to each other. Obviously, we could try to find different names for both categories, but I don't think they need merging. Docu at 09:27, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Docu. From what I see, both names refer to the same thing (the power station, and its two reservoirs). And just like "...Project", the "...Scheme" is mostly only used by the developers, and is not generally referred to by the public. Normally, a "...Power Station", "...Plant" or "Generating Station" is used. Rehman(+) 09:40, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- What name would you use for this part of the scheme (File:Dinorwig Power Station - geograph.org.uk - 3053.jpg)? Docu at 09:48, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- That's the intake/output portion, since this is a pumped-storage scheme. Assuming the lake shown here is the lower lake (am not sure), the water exits here during power generation, or is sucked-in during refilling. Vice-versa if this is the upper lake. The powerhouse is normally located somewhere near this. Hope this answers. kind regards. Rehman(+) 10:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's Llyn Peris. I'd like to make a category just for this part, how shall I call it? Docu at 10:12, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I think you're right, its Llyn Peris, the lower lake. Seems like Google Earth has terrain errors in the area. For now, I think the three current categories is sufficient: Category:Dinorwig Power Station, Category:Llyn Padarn, and Category:Llyn Peris. Which covers media for the power station, the upper lake, and the lower lake, respectively... Rehman(+) 10:24, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Ok. I must concede that the names might work better if more was visible above ground, e.g. Category:Ffestiniog pumped storage scheme or the ones in Category:Hydro-electric schemes. Maybe we can develop it better once more pictures are available. Docu at 10:32, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
