Category talk:Composers from the Czech Republic

This category cannot be denominated "Composers from the Czech Republic" The Czech Republic is only contemporary political name of Czechia, thus, it is limited to the period since 1993 until today Composers and musicians are from all historical periods, when some "Czech Republic" did not exist. Please correct this Wikipedia universal error not only here. It is confusing and misleading.

I am sorry, but if you want to propose a change that would affect whole Commons, you need to do so in a global discussion (or on Czech Wikipedia, possibly). Editing a single category page (and having it link to a non-existent category) will not do any good. Therefore, I have reverted your change. Also, as far as I know, "by country" is meant here as "from the area of this present-day country", e.g. there is no Category:Composers from Yugoslavia or Category:Composers from East Germany, although there was no country called Germany or Bosnia and Hercegovina at some times during the 20th century. --Marek BLAHUŠ (talk) 23:06, 19 April 2014 (UTC)
